What makes a great workout?

When I ask this question: What makes a great workout? Many people may think sweating, laying on the ground and or out of breath.
For me and what I tell our members is what makes a great workout is:
#1 – Warm up and Check in
Did you go through your body scan and connect with your body for 5-10 minutes and take notice of any areas that are demanding your attention?
#2 – Exercise Execution
Did you execute each repetition with full intent, full range of motion, full tempo
#3 – Weight Intensity
Did you use a moderate to heavy weight
Rate of perceive effort chart would score this a 7.5-8 out of 10.
Were you able to score the workout session as a whole as a 7.5-8 out of 10.
This to me is what makes a great workout. your ability to consistently put together 8/10 workouts. This approach will ensure you are leaving some reps in the tank along with energy in the tank. Only on occasion do you want to really push your workout intensity
