Can you relate?

Playing the long game
When I first heard this quote a couple years ago in Tony Robbins book “Money Master the game”. This really made me stop and think about how I was acting in my life.
The pattern I was in was as followed… First I get frustrated angry and upset that things aren’t going my way and I want to do something about it But it wasn’t an absolute need at the moment so I wouldn’t really do anything about it and I would just get stuck into thinking about how frustrated I was and things would maybe magically change on their own… Weeks and then months would go by I would forget about the thing that was frustrating me and life would go on… Then I would get triggered by someone else’s success and that would make me turn inside to me and think man I wanted to do that… Then the frustrated angry and upset cycle would start all over… I would then get really high on making change overestimate what I can do in a short period of time and impulsively want to do everything and change everything all at once. It’s in this moment that this quote hit me and I realized this is where I’ve been going wrong… Play the long game when I’m setting my goals or I want to change something in my life think about it in more of a 5 to 10-year span….
This is just an example:
Year 1 – focus on doing less things
Year 2 – focus on my fitness habits
Year 3 – focus on my nutrition habits
Year 4 – focus mental health
Year 5 – focus on my financial habits
Year 6 – focus on my relationship habits
Year 7 – focus on my spiritual habits
Year 8 – focus on my career habits
Year 9 – focus on my self-improvement
Year 10 – focus on playing more
