Are you trying to do too many things at once?

So many of us want to do five things at once and we want our ideal lifestyle now and that means we want to look like we’re in our best shape want to feel like we’re in our best shape we all we want to be living our best life now right now… right now…like right now.
The biggest learning lesson I’ve learned over the years of working with nutrition, strength, cognitive therapist coaches and my own personal trials has been to make a list of your wants and then cross out all but two of them . Then spend all your energy focusing on those one or two things for one year and see what happens.
Is it the right time to be on a diet?
A diet by definition is “the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.” (dictionary.com). In the culture we live today the definition of diet is more defined by “a change in what your eating for a short period of time and includes some type of restriction of what and how much food your eating”. This is a short term approach of sprinting at loosing weight and wanting to get the weight off NOW even if that means depriving of yourself.
Dieting: the blind spots we are not thinking about
When you go on habit change of dieting or changing the amount of calories your consuming. We tend to forget how this is goign to impact other areas of our lives for example.
Areas that may be affected when dieting:
- Mood levels may be up and down
- Energy levels may be up and down
- Stress levels may be up and down
- Sleep may be up and down
- Performance during workouts may go down
These are all blind spots that many of us overlook when going on a diet or consuming less calories. It would be wise to look ahead on your schedule, time of the year, busyness at work or home life and see if it makes sense to go on a diet.
