5 tips

This morning we discussed wide variety of topics including:
decision fatigue
being too coach able
setting clear Boundaries
Craftsman mentality
Accepting boredom
DECISION FATIGUE – is a term used to describe how someone feels after a long session thinking about decisions. This type of fatigue will result in a lower quality of the decision making soon after.
BEING TOO COACH ABLE – Yes there is such a thing. In the context of baseball and improving our hitting skills. Being too coachable can be our worst enemy because it will take us away from getting to know our swing. Some of the ingredients of becoming the best version of ourselves are self awareness and self confidence. Sometimes when we are too coachable – we lose trust in ourselves and convince ourselves we don’t have the answers and we are not good enough. So we lean on pleasing the coach or coaches, Even if it doesn’t work for us as an individual.
SETTING CLEAR BOUNDARIES – This means communicating clearly to others what YOU want. This is a communication skill that is so important to develop.
CRAFTSMAN MENTALITY – This is an approach towards the things you do on daily basis – becoming a master at the thing your doing. This means showing up week in and week out at the thing you’re trying to become a master at – In any MOOD – In fact it’s important that you still show up in all seasons of the mind or all moods because this will reinforce your level of commitment and mastery towards the thing you’re doing.
ACCEPTING BOREDOM – Oftentimes this is a what throws most of us off track (myself included*) We are committed we are on the path and then the journey starts to become boring. So instead of just accepting that it is a normal part of the process – we will create excitement by CHANGING our path or convince ourself we’re doing something wrong nope. Just stay the course.
