What Do You Take With You When You’re Hunting?

Written by: Lola Shimp

Of course you need firearms, ammo, backpacks, boots, and vests. But you need to take food and water too. Food and water is a very important thing when you’re hunting. When you’re deer hunting you sit in a tree stand, watch the sun come up and down and sometimes fall asleep. When you’re turkey hunting you walk around all day trying to find a place to sit for a little and then move again and again. So I would recommend bringing food and water to keep you hydrated and to keep you moving.
You can’t really bring a lot of food when you’re hunting because it makes noise if there is a bag or wrapper. Water is the thing to bring. It keeps you hydrated and it keeps your legs from cramping up when you’re walking.
When you walk up a mountain you sweat but when it’s cold outside it freezes and makes it cold so you might want to drink water from time to time. When you’re hunting you usually wake up around 3-3:30, maybe even 4. In the morning it is very cold outside so you also would want to bring blankets and jackets. So, water is very important when you are hunting because you don’t want your legs to cramp up, it keeps you more focused, and it keeps you hydrating and moving.
Hunting is all about time and patience. It takes a while to get a deer in the right spot. You might not even see a deer some days. My dad said it is called hunting not killing. He says that when I get upset or when I don’t see anything.
Those are things that I think you should bring with you if you want to go hunting.
